What's involved
Our study will examine bone density markers (bones) using a number of scans, your microbiome (bugs) and blood samples (biomarkers) to measure the effectiveness of the probiotic intervention for post-menopausal women.
Participants will be asked to take a probiotic daily for 12 months and attend the lab for 3 visits (baseline, 6 months, 12 months) for scans, stool sample and blood collection, and completion of questionnaires.

- Aged 45-65 years
- Postmenopausal (at least 12 months since last period)
- Healthy with a BMI between approximately 18-30
- Not on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
- Not taking medication that affects bone mineral density
- Melbourne-based and able to travel to La Trobe University, Bundoora
